Rene Brookbank


Rene Brookbank is a highly creative and passionate business development expert with 20 years of experience in business development, marketing, and career coaching. Her enthusiasm for helping individuals and businesses achieve or exceed their goals is evident in the results of her work.

Rene has successfully worked in a variety of industries, including legal (see legal case study below), insurance, retail, cosmetic, and financial services.  Rene is a member of the Legal Marketing Association. 

Rene is the founder and president of SignatureB Communications, a robust email marketing company with full-service capabilities.  The SignatureB platform includes comprehensive list management and segmentation capabilities, an easy-to-use campaign creator, and comprehensive results data. 

In addition to Rene’s legal marketing experience, she also has worked in healthcare communications and insurance property and casualty business development. She spent 11 years with GAB Robins, a global claims management and loss adjusting company, where she managed, coached, and mentored 14 account executives throughout the country and was responsible for a $110 million budget. During her tenure at GAB Robins, she sold the largest claims management contract in the history of the company, a $20 million FEMA contract to provide high-end claims services for New Mexico's Cerro Grande fire victims.

Case Study
For the past three years, Rene consulted with an Orange County law firm helping it grow its business and develop a results-driven marketing department.  The boutique firm with 22 attorneys specializes in business, business litigation, and insurance defense.
Rene was instrumental in the following key activities:

  • Provided individual one-on-one business development coaching for five attorneys.  This intensive program produced dynamic results, including two partners who doubled their origination in two years.
  • Spearheaded the creation (design, content, and functionality) and launch of the firm’s new Web site in 2009 and increased organic Web site traffic by developing a blogging strategy and social media marketing plan for the firm, including utilization of the SignatureB Communications email marketing platform, as well as leveraging email campaigns on social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Helped the firm to grow from 16 attorneys in 2009 to 22 attorneys at present with an aggressive lateral recruitment campaign, including fostering recruiting relationships, developing online recruitment strategies, and enticing lateral hires with advanced marketing and cross selling opportunities at the firm.
  • Developed a media relations program resulting in numerous articles appearing in trade and general media publications, including Los Angeles Daily Journal, Orange County Register, Daily Pilot, Claims Magazine, Journal of Nursing Law, and Journal for Nurse Practitioners, among others.
